World Renowned Composer Signs On To Score “The Outlaw Johnny Black”
Michael Bearden – Composer, & Music Director for Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, & The Emmys Tapped to Produce Original Score for “The Outlaw Johnny Black.”
Born on the South Side of Chicago, Michael Bearden is a music director, keyboardist, arranger, conductor and composer for a diverse range of musical superstars.
Michael discovered his talent at the age of 5 when he first sat in front of a piano and his feet hit the pedals. Since then, music has been an unstoppable force in his life. Over the years, Bearden’s signature style and inspiring approach to composition, arrangement and performance has made him one of the most wanted men in the industry. From being an Emmy Nominated Music Director to serving as a Global Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations, Bearden’s extraordinary career has provided him with the opportunity to work with over 450 artists around the world.
In his own words, Bearden believes every musician is different, and enjoys working with them one-on-one to help ensure their personal vision comes to life.
The legend, Michael Jackson, was an artist Bearden particularly enjoyed working with. Since the day they met, the two Michaels shared a close relationship and enjoyed pushing creative boundaries while producing Jackson’s final tour and documentary, “This Is It” (2009).
“When they finally brought MJ in to see me I was already playing around on the keyboard, he walked in smiling broadly with pep in his step. Instantly, he started dancing and swaying to me playing his song “Working Day and Night”.
We hugged and began talking about what he was looking for and I told him what I was looking for. I interrupted him several times to have him sing songs as I played them, to his credit he did, and we had a great bond immediately. We did a concert for about a half hour just me and him…”
Shortly after the documentary release, Bearden signed on to work with Lady Gaga as her music director.
Together they have produced countless shows including Coachella, The American Music Awards, The Joane World Tour, and most notably the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show, which garnered him an Emmy nomination for ‘Outstanding Music Direction’.
Not only has Bearden worked with generations of legendary superstars, he recently announced on Twitter that he has signed on to be the official film composer for Michael Jai White’s latest Feature Film, “The Outlaw Johnny Black”. As longtime friends, White and Bearden had often discussed the possibility of collaborating on an Epic Western with a 70’s twist. Looks like they have finally come together to make this dream a reality. With these two seasoned powerhouses working together, I am certain it will be a dynamite adventure that pushes the creative limits of sight and sound.
As the genres of Westerns, Blaxsploitation, Action and Comedy fuse into one, keep your ears wide open for a one-of-a-kind, totally righteous score, composed by a true maestro, Michael Bearden.
